EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY
I spend a lot of time photographing events these days, and I LOVE IT! Lately, I feel like a hybrid of a person resting somewhere between an introvert and an extrovert. Photographing events allows me to be both! I love talking to people but my main priority when photographing events is to remain mostly under the radar. Events allow me to both get chatty with the people around me but also enjoy my own company. I love the game of dancing around a room full of people while getting any and every shot I can possibly get that will capture the energy of the event. I love getting up close, but also staying far away. I love laughing with event attendees and also catching that laughter through my camera. Essentially, events allow me to be every facet of myself and to also do what I do best - documenting what is taking place with fun and enthusiasm. The best part? I do it all! Corporate, birthdays, retirements, baby showers, weddings… you name it.

At this point in my career as an event photographer, I have captured many corporate events. A lot goes into these events. A lot of people spend a lot of their time making sure everything goes off without a hitch. Rest assured that with me as your photographer, your role in this department ends once our contract is signed. My documentation of corporate events includes wide angle shots of the room that show the size of the event, images of speakers/presenters through many different angles, posed group shots, images of thoughtful details, branding and décor, as well as a ton of candid shots of event attendees mingling and enjoying all aspects of the event.
Personal Events
Birthdays, retirement parties, bridal showers, baby showers, baby baptisms, etc. I’ve photographed all of these and more! If you think I love corporate events (which I do), I love these kinds of events even more because of how intimate and special they can be! With two little kiddos of my own, I know how important it is to document various milestones in their lives. It’s also equally as important to capture other milestones in our lives - like retirement and big numbered birthdays ;) I make sure to pay the same kind of attention to detail to small events as I do corporate. So much effort goes into these kind of events as well and documenting those special details and memories is what I’m here for.

Weddings
While I don’t consider myself a “wedding photographer” per se, I have photographed several weddings as well as second shot many a wedding for a good friend of mine. It is so cool to see the day unfold for a couple in love. I have gotten misty eyed behind the camera at just about every wedding I’ve ever photographed, even when I don’t know the couple at all. There’s just something so special about capturing the love, the elation, the connection, between bride and groom and all of their friends and family who are there for THEM. While I might not market myself as a wedding photographer, if a couple reaches out and we both feel like we’re a good fit, I am incredibly excited and honoured to document their very special day!
