Socially Distant, Emotionally Connected
Okay so wow… what a world we live in right now. It’s been so crazy to see how the rapid spread of COVID-19 has affected our entire world. This is a scary time for all of us. Not only the threat of falling ill with the virus or the fear of passing it onto those we love who may be more compromised, but our work life is changing drastically. So many people are working from home, losing their jobs, losing their work as entrepreneurs, and seriously worrying about their financial security moving forward.
Some of this is certainly my current reality - all my jobs have been cancelled and if they haven’t, I’ve cancelled them myself in order to do my part in flattening the curve. However.. as the weather gets nicer and the promise of spring hangs somewhere in the air, I have hope for the potential to work again!
This brings me to the point of this blog post. As our city warms up and the trees start to bud, I would love to take on as many outdoor shoots as people are comfortable with. Now I understand that things like photoshoots are not going to be a financial priority for most people. For that reason, for the foreseeable future, I will be offering a 25% discount for my outdoor sessions. These sessions include family shoots, headshots, pet portraits and maternity sessions. As part of our safety measures in limiting the spread of COVID-19, I will maintain a safe distance from you and absolutely no touching will be involved. Also, I will not be taking on any family shoots that include families from different homes getting together. I will only be taking photos of families who live in the same home together so as to keep everyone involved as safe as possible. If you are feeling too nervous about going to a public park for your photoshoot, which I would completely understand, we can always discuss the possibility of doing “porch portraits”, which is another service I am offering at this time.
**Note: The possibility for outdoor, socially distanced photoshoots completely depends on the changing status and severity of COVID-19 within our province. I will be paying close attention to the specific rules and restrictions in place as they change throughout the coming weeks and months. That being said, if you schedule a photoshoot, there is the possibility of cancellation depending on the circumstances.
